I have had my eye on this dress since the minute started to plan our trip to Costa Rica. Spell is one of my most favorite brands and I knew it would be the perfect dress to wear on our trip. I pranced around the tiny town of Quepos, Costa Rica on our last night of the trip in this dress and it has been hanging in my closet ever since. It is one of my favorite dresses I have ever worn and I really wanted to find an opportunity to wear it again. That’s when I remembered that Airlie Gardens in Wilmington was having their final summer concert this past Friday. I knew this gorgeous flowy dress would be perfect to dance around the gardens where we got married 2 1/2 years ago now. It was also disgustingly hot and humid last night so there was no way I was going to even try one of my new fall outfits. This dress is so beautifully made I never want to take it off. I feel like such a flower child in this dress and got some funny looks as a danced to the bathrooms at the concert but I didn’t care (probably due to my wine intake but nonetheless).
I decided to wear my ankle boots with this dress so it wasn’t so summery. These boots from last season weren’t my favorite paired with this dress but they were my only option this early in the season. I ordered 3 different pairs of ankle boots this week and can’t wait for them to come (fingers crossed they come while Kyle is out of town for work). I also wore my favorite necklace that I bought specifically for this dress. I have been wearing it with everything lately and it is such a statement piece I am constantly getting compliments on it. I paid $40 for it and now it is now on sale for $30 but I’m not even upset like I usually am when that happens because I love it so much.
It was so fun listening to live music at the same spot we said “I do” not too long ago. They let you bring coolers and food in so we drank cheap wine as we sat and ate Trader Joe’s sushi while watching the old people shag to the beach music (if you aren’t from NC look it up it’s quite interesting). All in all it was a really nice Friday night and I’m glad I found the perfect opportunity to wear this dress again. I also think this dress would be great for a fall wedding. October is a huge wedding season and it is somewhat hard to come up with something to wear that is season and wedding appropriate. We have a couple weddings in October this year and I am thinking about wearing this beauty of a dress to at least one of them. Paired with some neutral wedges I think this dress would steal the show at any wedding, especially on the dance floor.
Here’s hoping you get at least one dance in this weekend and lots of cheap wine. Happy Saturday!
