Beach Date Night

Two weekends ago we decided to take a last minute cheap beach trip. Read all about it here! We only stayed one night but we made the most of it by exploring the Intracoastal Waterway and having a fun dinner on the river in Sneads Ferry. I happened to order this dress earlier in the week before we knew we were going but it worked out perfectly with its beachy vibe. I have been obsessed with this dress for weeks now but with a $345 price tag I had to keep dreaming. This maxi was nicely priced under $70 and gave the same effect as my dream dress for now. I tucked in the straps for a full off the shoulder look. I am a solid size 4 in most everything Asos and this dress fit perfectly. I wish I would have gotten better pictures of the back because that was my favorite part! So cute and fun. I absolutely loved the fabric too, almost like a thick linen. These shoes are also my new go to. I have to admit it was a splurge (especially since I found an identical cheaper version) but I don’t own anything Vince (since I can’t afford most of it) and I put it on my Nordstrom card (sorry not sorry). These shoes are honestly so comfortable and high quality it was so worth the price.
After taking photos on the dock we headed to dinner. Since Sneads Ferry is a teeny tiny town we didn’t have many options. Whenever we are in Topsail, Sears Landing is our go to spot that never fails to provide a good meal with a beautiful atmosphere on the sound with a view of sailboats and waterfront homes. But learning of the 1.5 hour wait when we called we decided to try something new. Our AirBnB host suggested Riverview Cafe in Sneads Ferry. I was so dolled up I started tearing up when we walked in because it was just a tiny little diner with barely a water view (and because I am just a gigantic brat). But we were pleasantly surprised by everything. Just like the AirBnB we stayed in, never judge a book by its cover! Or a diner by it’s ripped vinyl booths apparently! I of course got the crab chowder. Kyle always makes fun of me because I will order a hot cup of soup even if we are sitting outside on a 100 degree day. I just freaking love soup, especially seafood chowder! Then I talked Kyle into getting our absolute favorite, and a dish that always reminds me of our Jamaican honeymoon, key lime pie! They put homemade meringue on top and it was one of the best pieces of pie I’ve ever had. All in all we had a wonderful time, even if it wasn’t exactly what I had pictured.
Here’s to more pieces of pie and pleasant surprises.
