Carter Building Sip + Shop

This past Friday night Kyle and I ventured a few blocks from where we live to the Carter Building on Glenwood. Raleigh is so great about always having an event gong on during the weekends and this weekend was no different. All the vendors in the building hosted a date night sip + shop and it was such a great turnout.
Wendy from Katie Callahan & Co. was the woman behind the event and she did such an amazing job. There were food trucks, photo booths, and the best part, an open bar with a professional bartender serving up prohibition cocktails.
My favorite part was the idea behind the event. It was a date night sip + shop instead of the typical sip + shop geared towards only women that I usually drag Kyle to. The adorable menswear air stream Pitch and Primer was there to include the guys and there was even a “Dude’s Lounge”. For the first time in I think our entire relationship Kyle walked away with a purchase while I walked away empty handed (lack of funds not want)!

Inside the building there were so many cute vendors I never even knew were there! I highly suggest if you live in the area to check this building out because there are definitely some hidden gems inside. Beautiful vintage jewelry that I could look at forever from Katie Callahan & Co. She is hosting an antique and vintage jewelry trunk show this week too! There is a makeup line local to Raleigh called Front Row Cosmetics who has their showroom there. Also Zass Designs who makes badass upcycled accessories.
Raleigh Vintage is also a space I had never been in. I can’t even begin to explain the heaven that is their shop. She is rarely open so I was so excited to have the opportunity to visit the store. I am going to do a completely different blog post about her shop because it was all too much to take in!

Overall it was such a fun event, I was really glad we went. They are having another one December 15 that you can’t miss. You can never go wrong with good food, even better drinks, and local Raleigh people coming together. Downtown has so much to offer I am still learning new spots after living here for so long.
Katelyn: Thank you for your lovely write-up, kind words, gorgeous photos and most of all for coming to our Sip and Shop. We can’t wait to see you and Kyle again Dec 15th, but we’re hoping we get the chance long before then! Come visit us for the Trunk Show – we’ve got the champagne (and bourbon) on ice. xoxo, WKC
Such a great write up Katelyn! So glad that you came by! Hope you make your face one of the regulars at the Carter Building!
