You Need This Skirt

Hello again blog! It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post, but this outfit is so good I had to give it more attention! I have been loving Madewell skirts lately and have had such fun pairing them with a slouchy top for a cool but comfortable look. This skirt was such a great deal I found in store (and they just restocked online!) I bought it right away. It can be dressed up or down and is such a nice material. Not only is this skirt cute, most importantly it is comfortable and easy to throw on. For size reference, mine is a small. I can’t wait to style this skirt a little dressier for a night out, but for now this slouchy look is just right for a Monday afternoon dinner date.

I’ve talked before about how it can be difficult to pair skirts with the right top. I ordered this top on sale knowing I would have zero trouble pairing it with boyfriend shorts or skinny jeans for the spring and summer. When I came home with this skirt I threw them on together and it actually worked. As with most Free People stuff, top runs large (I’m wearing an XS) but it is meant to be flowy and over-sized. I think this color is so unique but it comes in a few pretty colors that are always rotating on the Free People website. I know I will be wearing this top a whole lot during the summer months because it is so breezy (even if it is sweater material). It would look super cute under a pair of overalls too (if I could ever find a pair that fit me right!).

THESE SHOES. I am so mad at myself about these shoes. I ordered them a while ago and they sat in my closet, too pretty to wear. When I finally wore them last week I realized how terribly tight they were and that I had to size up (I’m a 7.5 and should have gotten an 8). When I went to Nordstrom to exchange them the salesman informed me that there was no size 8 in the entire country. I was SO BUMMED. I wore them for this look anyways but they killed me the entire night. I’ve linked some super cute alternatives that I think I might try since these are just too small. These are adorable and almost identical (and half the price!). I love these because they are the same color but can be worn even more casually. Hopefully there will be a restock soon! They also come in black which I am seriously thinking about getting too. I hope you enjoyed this cool casual outfit as much as I did! Snag this skirt before the sizes sell out!
