Shopping Secrets

Top / Flare Jeans / Heels / Necklace
Shoppin’ is a habit. In fact, it’s an obsession. I have been shopping for as long as I can remember. I remember actually looking forward to school starting in August while growing up because that meant back to school shopping with my mom. Since we never had our dream budget when it came to shopping (does anyone?!) my mama always taught me how to look for a good deal. She taught me that most everything goes on sale and to never pay full price for things that you want. With the age of online shopping now it’s even easier to find that perfect deal on the exact item you want! I am here to share my tips and tricks on how I got this entire designer outfit above for only $122! You can have both a closet full of beautiful pieces AND a wallet that is not (completely) empty.
Google: This is your number one tool you should be using while online shopping. When I first came across this Fringe Free People Sweater I immediately fell in love. But the $108 price tag was something I was certainly NOT in love with. The first thing I did is find the exact name of the sweater. A lot of times I will directly copy and paste the name of the piece and brand into Google so that I get the spelling correct. All of the websites with this item will come up. From there Google Shopping will give you a variety of options from different retailers. Prices vary greatly from store to store. The majority of the time you can find the lowest price right from the Google Shopping window. It’s always good to double check too that there is not a site with a lower price that isn’t on Google Shopping as well.
Coupon Codes & Email Sign Ups: Another way to get the pieces you are already purchasing for cheaper is to find a discount code. Retailmenot.com is a great way to find all available codes but most of the time I just google the site name and “coupon code”. Also, a lot of times sites will offer free shipping or 10-15% off if you sign up for the newsletter. It’s always good to scroll to the bottom of the page and sign up. I know getting website emails are really annoying but it is also a great way to stay in the know about when the sales are happening. I actually have an old email I use just for store emails and sales. I found out Madewell was having a great sale and got these $135 Flare Jeans shown above for only $25 because of it!
Amazon: Amazing-on. I happen to have Amazon Prime but Amazon offers so many great deals even without Prime (though I think it is definitely worth the fee). Many people don’t know that Amazon sells some awesome clothes, shoes, and accessories at the cheapest price on the internet. I always check to see if Amazon has something before I buy as well. Most of the time they will not only have the lowest price on designer items but they will offer free shipping too even without Prime.
These are just a few of the things I do to save money before I buy something. I love this outfit so much but I love the fact I got it on the cheap even more! These jeans are so fun to wear and at such a great price I couldn’t say no. Hope these tips were helpful. I am planning on doing another shopping tip post again soon with more tricks so stay tuned and happy shopping!
