The Jean Skirt is Back
I’m really excited to start a new series on my blog and Instagram. I’ve learned from the past couple of seasons that I don’t get enough use out of my clothes. I was wearing a piece one time then letting it hang in my closet until I decided to get rid of it. Since I’m not made of money and can’t continue like that, I’ve been working on styling certain pieces a few different ways. It’s so important to get use out of pieces you spend money on and I am here to help! Throughout this series I will be taking one piece and styling it 3 different ways to show it’s versatility. I hope you enjoy this series and enjoy it as much as I have so far.
I’m starting with one of my favorite pieces that I am so happy is back…the jean mini.
Skirt / Tank / Bomber Jacket / Bag / Similar Boots / Sunglasses
My first (and favorite) way I wore this jean mini skirt was with my new bomber jacket. Unfortunately this exact Zara jacket sold out quick, but there are tons of cute bombers I’ve linked below! I love the floral bombers because it is definitely a new take on the traditional army green bomber jacket. I wore it with my favorite Free People tank. I bought this tank in green and white because it was so cheap and cute. It fit a little funny but I got them tailored for $5 each and they are an awesome go to piece especially for layering for fall. I paired it with these Zara ankle booties from last season. I so love the block heel boot that is in this year and glad these still worked! I honestly loved this look and didn’t want to take it off. We went to Flytrap Brewing for a beer and had a great time exploring a different part of downtown Wilmington.
This look is so easy! I threw on my favorite tennis shoes and a tee shirt. It was so easy and comfortable while we were walking around downtown all day. I love a good graphic tee and I wear this one with a lot. It’s actually from PacSun and I was a little embarrassed going in there considering I hadn’t shopped there since I was 16 but I found some really cute things and I know no shame! I think these grey Adidas are a nice break from the typical white ones. They are so comfy and look cute with so many different things. I definitely recommend sizing down on these though, I sized down a 1/2 size on these and they are still a little big.
Sweater / Skirt / Boots / Hat / Necklace
These boots. THESE BOOTS!! I am going to do a separate post on styling these boots 3 ways but I loved the way they looked with this skirt. I first found Bali Elf through Instagram and bought my bag (that I carry everywhere) from them. Then these boots came out and I had to have them. Knee high or over the knee boots look so cute with mini skirts or dresses, the length of this skirt was perfect for these boots. This slouchy sweater was so cheap and I know I will wear the hell out of this basic throughout the season. I tied the sweater to the side because I thought it needed a little structure and the side tie is my go to move. I think this is the most fall-like look with this skirt and I really liked the neutral autumn colors.
Hoped you liked at least one of the ways I styled this cute little skirt. It was so fun finding multiple ways to wear one piece, I am definitely going to continue to style one staple item different ways to show just how versatile your clothes can be!
