Travel Diary: Jamaica Bay Inn
We were lucky enough to stay at the Jamaica Bay Inn the first leg of our Los Angeles trip. The Jamaica Bay Inn is in Marina Del Rey, California and could not have been a more perfect setting for the beginning of our getaway!
Jamaica Bay Inn
It’s located right on the beach and has a very tropical vibe which is always a plus. The hotel is also right near Venice Beach and is extremely walkable, which is rare for LA. We checked in early after our flight on Sunday. We explored the grounds and were blown away by the perfect landscape and never ending amount of photo spots. After getting freshened up we ventured into Venice and had a great time walking Abbot Kinney Blv. which is full of restaurants, shops, and apparently famous people. We saw Sarah Hyland from Modern Family and her new man from the Bachelor Wells Adam canoodling in the streets before dinner at Wabi Sabi.
Venice Love
The next day we explored more of Venice and Marina Del Rey. I honestly love this area. It’s really laid back and beautiful. The houses are so unique and the cactus and succulents literally grow wild. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Beachside Restaurant and Bar on our second night. We had read good reviews about the hotel restaurant but we were blown away by the food. Apparently hotel food doesn’t have to taste like hotel food! It was actually one of our favorite meals the entire trip. Beachside is a great spot, and even dog friendly!
Didn’t Want To Leave
Our last day at the Jamaica Bay Inn we rented bikes. We explored deeper into Venice and ended up on Rose Ave. Less busy than Abbot Kinney, Rose Ave. is another really awesome area that had great drink spots and shops. We had such a great time staying in this part of town and at the Jamaican Bay Inn. I can’t recommend this spot enough if you are in need of a California vacation!
