The Lowdown: Tinted Brows

I recently had the pleasure of going to Idolize Beauty inside Crabtree Valley Mall to try brow tinting. I have never been a big eyebrow upkeep kinda girl. I’ve only had an eyebrow wax a handful of times in my life. I don’t have super full brows so I keep up with the little I have with tweezers at home. When Idolize contacted me about their services I was really excited to give both brow tinting and threading a try.

The Process
The process of the actual tinting is super simple. They applied the eyebrow specific dye onto my brows. Once it was painted I had to sit and let it work for 5-10 minutes. My brows are fairly light naturally so I told her I wasn’t afraid to go dark!
Threading
After the dye had set she simply wiped it off. The whole process took less than 15 minutes and I was excited to see what the outcome looked like. Then she did some threading on my eyebrows. Without taking any of the fullness, she threaded and shaped my brows super quick and painlessly. I have sensitive skin so I never reacted to waxing well when I did get my brows waxed. The threading process was so much less painful and gave much better results than tweezing or waxing ever have.

Final Look
To be totally honest I was a little shocked at first! They looked like two big furry caterpillars crawling on my face. But after a day of getting used to them I completely fell in love! It makes such a difference and I spend less time doing my brows when I do my makeup. The best part, when I’m not wearing makeup (majority of the time) my brows look completely filled in and full. I’ve always loved the look of dark brows with light hair but I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off.
I would love to someday get brow microblading done, but it is SO expensive! So for now, this $20 brow solution is something I am going to keep up with for sure. The tinting lasts about 6-8 weeks which is a good amount of time for the price.

Lash + Brow Accelerator
As a little bit of an extra brow (and lash) upkeep I’ve started using this Rimmel London lash and brow accelerator and the coordinating mascara. After doing a ton of research I decided to try this super cheap version that got tons of great reviews. After taking a break from lash extensions, my lashes were in major need of some love. The Rodan and Fields Lash Boost also got great reviews but has been out of stock for a while. I’ve noticed a tiny bit of difference in my lashes after using both products every day for the past two weeks. I recommend adding these to your beauty regime because they are such a great budget option at around $7 each.
